SEOUL, July 19 (Yonhap) --Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp (KOMSCO) announced on Tuesday that it will be releasing a medal to commemorate Son Heung-Min's English Premier League (EPL) Golden Boot (scorer) award next month.
KOMSCO has differentiated from Son Heung-min's commemorative medal released last year, and plans to include elements that symbolize the Golden Boot in the design.
A portion of the sales will be used for the development of youth soccer in Korea.
"It is the mission of KOMSCO to publicize Korea and commemorate its history," Bahn Jahng-shick, head of KOMSCO, said. "We will try our best to capture that value through design and technique befitting a top scorer."
Son Heung-min became the first Asian player to become the top scorer in the EPL in the 2021-2022 season.
