SEOUL, Aug. 10 (Yonhap) -- K-pop dynamo BTS' "Butter" single CD and rookie Enhypen's Japanese debut single have been certified as platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
A song can be certified Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum, Triple Platinum, and Million by the Recording Industry Association of Japan per month depending on the cumulative shipments of singles and albums.
The single CDs of the upbeat summer number "Butter," which were released on July 9, surpassed 250,000 copies of cumulative shipments and obtained the platinum certification in the album category.
The physical album includes "Butter" and "Permission to Dance," which topped Billboard's "Hot 100," along with instrumental versions for both songs.
BTS' all Japanese-language album "BTS, The Best," released on June 16 has previously received a million-seller certification. BTS became the only band that received a million-seller certification by the Recording Industry Association of Japan this year.
