SEOUL, April. 6 (Yonhap) -- The movie "Rebound," which was released on the 5th, is inseparable from Busan, including the story and filming location.
"Rebound" was produced based on the actual story of the Busan Jungang High School basketball team, which was the weakest team in 2012, causing a stir at the national middle and high school basketball tournament.
This work was selected for the Busan Film Commission's 2022 Busan Location Incentive Support Project and received 40 million won in incentives.
The production team chose Busan as its main location to revive the reality of the story and stayed in Busan for 35 days from April last year.
There are about 20 filming locations including Jungang High School, Monument Culture Village, former Dong Pusan College, Yeongdo Bridge, Sunrise Observatory, Oncheoncheon Stream, Chungmu-dong Daybreak-opening Market, Yeongju Citizen's Apartment, and Daeyeon Cultural Park.
At the preview hosted by the Busan Film Commission on the 30th of last month, the audience praised it for being able to see "Real Busan."
It was evaluated that places of everyday in Busan, not tourist attractions, was well contained in the movie.
This background device served as an important factor in describing the characteristics of the characters and focusing on the flow of the story.
"The ‘Rebound’ production team found a location that could strengthen the keywords 'youth' and 'growth' from the pre-production stage," said Kim Sun-ki, location manager of the Busan Film Commission. "I was proud that the recommended filming location harmonized well with the story."
