Stray Kid's Hyunjin directly apologizes for causing verbal abuse in the past

SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Yonhap) -- K-pop star Hyunjin of JYP entertainment's boy band Stray Kids met with the victim who reportedly suffered damage from Hyunjin's verbal abuse and apologized in person.

JYP entertainment explained that "Although we compiled all the information we collected and received from various witnesses, it was difficult to clearly prove all of the facts written on the post about Hyunjin and his past with school violence because everybody had such different memories of the situation. "

"There are still people who are hurt from Hyunjin's immature actions and inappropriate words and Hyunjin who is deeply regretting and reflecting on his wrongdoings, is sincerely apologizing to the victims face to face."

"If there are still victims out there that have received verbal abuse from Hyunjin in the past but have not been contacted, we would like to take this opportunity to apologize on behalf of Hyunjin," they added.

The management agency also mentioned how they would continue making sincere efforts to lead Hyunjin to become a better musician and take caution when selecting new trainees and artists in the future.

Hyunjin also uploaded a picture of his handwritten letter on social media saying he "sincerely apologizes to those who were hurt by my words in the past."

"Looking back at my actions I'm truly ashamed and have no excuses to justify my actions." He also added that "even though my apology was accepted, I know that it can never mend the damages I caused to the victims."

The 20-year-old rapper was recently involved in a controversy over allegations of verbal abuse and sexual harassment against his classmates. He did not participate in any of his scheduled events such as being the MC for MBC's "Show! Music Core" program.
