SEOUL, Mar. 7 (Yonhap) -- The upcoming thriller “4 P.M.” (literal title), starring South Korean veteran actors Oh Dal-soo, Jang Young-nam, and Kim Hong-pa, has kicked off filming, producer Daydream Entertainment confirmed Tuesday.

The grappling thriller begins when a retired couple achieves their dream of buying a house in the suburbs to live alone together, far from the public world. Their longtime dream of enjoying a peaceful retired life soon gets disturbed by a neighbor who develops the habit of coming into their house every day precisely at 4 p.m. The film is based on a Belgian novel written by Amelie Nothomb, “The Stranger Next Door.”

Oh will play the role of Jeong-in, a philosophy professor who has been dreaming of spending his retired life far from the city, while Jang will appear as his wife Hyun-sook. The film sees Kim as the mysterious and creepy neighbor, Yuk Nam.

Filmmaker Jay Song, who is known for previously delivering “The Nightmare” (2018) and “Stellar” (2021), has taken the helm.

The release date is yet to be decided.
