SEOUL, Mar. 6 (Yonhap) -- The upcoming South Korean film “Victory,” starring Lee Hye-ri and Park Se-wan, has kicked off shooting on Saturday, distributor Mindmark announced Monday.
The forthcoming cheerleading flick will follow the story of the cheerleading club “Millennial Girls,” which was formed in 1999 at a high school in Geoje.
The film sees Lee as Pil-sun, a high school student who accidentally comes to adore cheerleading, while Park will play Mina, her best friend. In addition, actresses Cho Ah-ram, Choi Ji-soo, Baek Hi, Kwon Yu-na, Yeom Ji-young, Lee Han-joo, and Park Hyo-eun will appear.
Director Park Bum-soo, who is known for his previous credits in the 2013 rom-com “Red Carpet,” took the helm.
Lee, who is known by her stage name Hyeri, was a former member of the now-disbanded girl group Girl’s Day. She has credits that include the mega-hit television series “Reply 1988” and “My Roommate Is a Gumiho.”
