Enjoy 'Tasting Sympathy' at Gyeongbokgung palace from June 8

SEOUL, May 25 (Yonhap) --The Cultural Heritage Administration Royal Palaces and Tombs Center, along with the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced on the 25th that it will be holding a Suragan Tasting Sympathy program from June 8th till the 20th at Sojubang (royal kitchen) in Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Tasting sympathy, where one will be able to enjoy gourmet food on a night in early summer will be composed of "Nighttime Sawnggwabang" and "Sikdorak x Tasting Sympathy."

Participants of "Nighttime Saenggwabang" will be able to enjoy Gugak (traditional Korean music) while tasting the food in Saenggwabang" while those who participate in "Sikdorak x Tasting Sympathy" will be able to enjoy the royal food while listening to the stories related to the foods by the chef and the Sanggung (official title of the senior 5th rank the highest attainable for gungnyeo, a lady-in-waiting during the Joseon Dynasty of Korea) of the Joseon Dynasty.

"Kitchen Ally" will also be operated, offering a variety of snacks including the grilled chicken pogye, watermelon, lotus roots, Yakshik (rice dessert that is traditional for holidays or special occasions) and balloon flower juice.

One will also be able to experience making the royal tea ceremony, the making of silk bojagi (traditional Korean wrapping cloth) and experience other traditional games.

Reservations can be made at Interpark Tickets from 2 p.m. on the 25th. Though it will be based on a first-come, first-served basis, participants from the 15th till the 17th of next month will be randomly chosen. The participation fee is 25,000 won and one person can reserve only up to 4 tickets.
