Estonian Festival Orchestra to visit South Korea on September

SEOUL, July 23 (Yonhap) -- Paavo Järvi, Estonia’s master conductor, will visit South Korea on September, leading the Estonian Festival Orchestra. It is the orchestra’s first concert in South Korea.

Vincero, the art management company, announced on the 22th that Estonian Festival Orchestra’s concert, conducted by Järvi, will be held on September 3, at a concert hall of Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul, South Korea.

The orchestra will also perform in Tongyeong International Music Foundation on the 4th of same month and in Gyeonggi Arts Center on the 5th.

Järvi is known as one of the busiest conductors in the world. He is currently in charge of art director of Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, permanent conductor of NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo, as well as Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich.

Estonian Festival Orchestra was founded by Järvi in 2011. It is composed of Estonian musicians selected by Järvi.

Starting with the first European tour concert in 2018, the orchestra have met with the audiences in international stages of cities such as Osaka and Tokyo in Japan.

In the upcoming concert in South Korea, the orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Brahms’ Double Concerto with violinist Triin Ruubel and cellist Marcel Joannes Kits.
