SEOUL, Mar. 3 (Yonhap) -- CGV, one of the largest cinema branches based in South Korea, will exclusively screen a live recording of the South Korean trot singer Lim Young-woong’s encore performance of his live tour “IM HERO” in four more countries, including Malaysia, Hong Kong, the U.S., and Thailand.

The documentary “IM HERO THE FINAL,” which hit the local theaters on Tuesday, has been unprecedentedly gathering moviegoers, which is very unusual for a concert film screening. The singer, who plucked to stardom by singing on the stages of TV Chosun’s trot survival show “Mr. Trot,” has been even topping the box office chart in addition to the music charts.

CGV said, “Whether ‘IM HERO THE FINAL,’ which screens not only the live recording of his encore performance in Seoul from a new angle but also several of his unreleased interviews, can lead to global success has been gathering attention in the film industry.”

Lim, 31, signed with Mulgogi Music in 2016 and debuted as a singer with his first single “Hate You.”
