CJ ENM, to hold online hallyu festival, 'KCON:TACT' 5th season

SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Yonhap) -- Online K-culture festival "KCON:TACT" season 5 is to be held from 18th to 26th of September, according to CJ ENM (Entertainment) Wednesday.

The festival has been held 24 times since 2012 in the U.S, Canada, Australia, Mexico and Japan. But due to the spread of COVID-19 infection, it has been held online starting from last year.

"KCON:TACT HI 5" in September will also be held contactless but CJ ENM is planning to expand the range of the artists and the viewers' to interactions by broadcasting the artists' stories and giving the artists as many opportunities as possible for live communications with the fandoms.

The entertainment will strengthen their representative contents as well, such as AR (Augmented Reality) opening and KCON Arena.

The upcoming festival will exclusively be released on TVING, an OTT (Over-The-Top media service) platform, in Korea and foreign fans can watch it on KCON official YouTube channel and Mnet K-pop YouTube channel.
