SEOUL, June 20 (Yonhap) -- Korean singer Lim Young-woong has become the first solo artist to surpass 10 billion cumulative streams on the music platform Melon.
According to Melon and his agency, Fish Music, on the 20th, Lim Young-woong's total streams since his debut have exceeded 10 billion, earning him a spot in the "Melon's Hall of Fame Billions Diamond Club." He is the second artist to join this club, following the group BTS.
Lim Young-woong debuted in 2016 with the single "Miwooyo" and rose to fame after winning TV Chosun's audition program "Mr. Trot" in 2020. His first full-length album, "I'm Hero," released in 2022, has accumulated over 3.5 billion streams on Melon, while his single "Trust in Me" has surpassed 900 million streams.
His latest single, "Warmth," released last month, has already exceeded 2 million streams, demonstrating his enduring popularity.
