SEOUL, August 25 (Yonhap) -- The National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage announced on Thursday that they published a report “Our Paper, Hanji –Analysis-”
Hanji is Korean traditional paper made of Dak tree’s bark.
The report has analysis and results of 49 different kinds of hanji, which were produced with sources and methods.
Analysis on what features influence hanji’s tensile strength, which measures how much power hanji can endure when pulled to certain width, safety, and preservatives can also be found in the report.
Researcher said, “The intensity of Hanji made with domestic Dok is stronger than hanji made of imported Dak,” adding, “Traditional hanji is an excellent paper regarding the intensity and dimensional stability.”
