SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Yonhap) -- A festival will be held in Busan to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Vietnam.
The ASEAN Cultural Center of the Korea Foundation (KF) announced on Tuesday that it will hold a "Vietnam Lamp Night" festival at the Cultural Center in Haeundae, Busan for two days from December 2 to 3.
The inside of the cultural center will be decorated to create a local atmosphere of Vietnam, and performances and various events will take place.
The calligraphy performance of Kim So-yong and stages of singers Nam Dong-hyun and J-NIQ, who are loved for their outstanding singing skills will happen at the event. Traditional performances by the Korean Residents' Association of Vietnam Embassy Seoul will also take place.
Under the concept of "Traveling to Vietnam," more than 30 famous sellers will operate flea markets, and Vietnamese coffee brand "G7" will bold an event which provides coffee samples and mug cups to visitors.
Vietnam's leading F&B brand "Hanoi Beer Night Street" will sell six traditional Vietnamese foods, including bun cha, rice noodles, and banmi.
There will also be an experience zone such as a "Vietnamese naming center" which give Vietnamese names for visitors, a free Vietnamese traditional clothes rental center, a Vietnamese traditional game "Dern kala" center, and an event to make lanterns. Participants can also receive Vietnamese honorary citizenship cards ad stickers with KF's character.
There will also be free draw event of 1,000 books and a lottery event providing 100,000 won worth of Vietnamese travel subsidies.
Since the official establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Korea and Vietnam have been maintaining a friendly relationship in various fields such as economy and culture.
An official from the KF ASEAN Cultural Center said, "We hope this festival will be an opportunity to deepen cultural understanding between the citizens of the two countries and to work together for the future."
