South Jeolla province government to offer up to 5 million won won to films shooting in S.Jeolla province

SEOUL April 19 (Yonhap) -- South Jeolla province government has addressed their plans to provides funds up to 5 million won to those who shoot drama series or movies within the province, addressed, South Jeolla Province on Wednesday.

According to the “2023 film and drama production incentive support program” productions which take place within South Jeolla province will be granted with the incentive up to 50 percent regarding the cost spent within the province.

Productions which spend over million won and participate in the shoot from 2 to 4 times within the province will be granted with 1.5 million won, whereas those which spend over 3 million won and participate in production more than 5 times, the supporting program will grant the production up to 5 million won worth the incentive.

Categories such as, accommodation, food, rental fees and more are included within the allegeable segments.

Moreover, “2023 film and drama production incentive support program” cannot be overlapped with other incentive program offered by municipalities.

South Jeolla province has supported over 600 million won through “Film and Drama Production Incentive Support Program” since 2018.

Overall, production companies which worked on S.Korean drama series “Big Mouth,” “The Red Sleeve,” “Hot Blooded” and more has spent over 2.5 billion won.

Representative of the Jeonnam Film Commission Yang Gook-jin addressed “Jeonnam is home to various nature and historical sites, therefore it is a perfect place to shoot dramas and movies.”
