SEOUL, June 12 (Yonhap) -- tvN’s new Wednesday and Thursday drama, “Eve,” through which Seo Yea-ji, who had an issue over her private life, will make a comeback to TV screen, surpassed 5 million clip video views, ranking the best record among new dramas in the same season.

According to Smart Media Rep (SMR), which distributes videos on demand (VOD) of main broadcasting companies, “EVE,” which was first broadcasted on the first week of this month, surpassed a cumulative of 5 million clip video views in two episodes.

The record is higher than other dramas that were also first broadcasted on the same week, including SBS’s Friday and Saturday drama “Why Her?,” starred by Seo Hyun-jin, MBC’s Saturday and Sunday drama “Doctor Lawyer,” starred by So Ji-sup, and JTBC’s Saturday and Sunday drama “Cleaning Up,” starred by Yum Jung-ah.

The number of cumulative views turned out to be 5.18 million for “Eve,” 2.42 million for “Why Her?,” 890 thousand for “Doctor Lawyer,” and 540 thousand for “Cleaning Up.” The number of cumulative views for tvN’s Monday and Tuesday drama “Link: Eat, Love, Kill,” starred by Yeo Jin-goo, was counted at 540 thousand, which only reflects the number of clips played for the first episode.

The number of individual clips played was also overwhelming. 8 of the top 10 clips which recorded the highest number of clips played, were “Eve.”

The clip of Lee Rael (Seo Yea-ji) seducing Kang Yoon-kyum (Park Byung-eun) hit 320 thousand views, the highest, and the clip of Seo Yea-ji passionately dancing tango also recorded 230 thousand views, attracting a lot of attention.

When it comes to the age range of clip viewers, the rate of the 40s who watched “Eve” was 43.2%, recording the highest among newly released dramas. Meanwhile, “Eve” is rated R, which is also only available for those over the age of 19 in some online clips.

Among new Saturday and Thursday dramas, “Why Her?” is outstanding.

The number of clip video views per episode of “Why Her?” recorded 1.21 million views. “Doctor Lawyer” recorded 440 thousand views, and “Cleaning Up” followed with 270 thousand views.
