SEOUL, November 16 (Yonhap) -- The ninth Busan Women's Film Festival held at Art Cinema, BNK Busan Bank, will open on November 25 and continue for two days.

The film festival this year will screen 13 films under the slogan "The Only Way, Echo."
It alleges that all life on Earth is threatened with extinction as a result of the climate crisis and environmental pollution.

The festival faces the fact that women and children are the ones who are driven to the most vulnerable situation in such a crisis.

The documentary "The Ants & the Grasshopper" (2021), which deals with environmental crises and women, was selected as the opening film.

This movie depicts the story of the long journey of an African woman traveling from Malawi to America to save the earth from going through global warming.

Three creative documentaries, such as "Administration Lady" (literal translation) and "I Just Had a Part Time Job" (literal translation), produced by students of the second feminism film school, were listed for the film festival.

It will also showcase "Gyeong-Ah's Daughter" and the documentary "Successful Fan," which deals with digital sex crimes.

Various notable films, such as "Happening," a film adapted from the French writer AnnieErnaux's autobiographical novel that boosted women's lives with literature, and Busan's female director Park Ji-sun's "Carnival of Witches," will be screened.

Aside from the film screening, there will be discussions with the audience, special talks, and hands-on booths.

Director Park Ji-sun and the cast of the movie will have a talk with the audience, and a special talk for "Happening" will be held by a researcher of women's literature.
