SEOUL, July 18 (Yonhap) -- The annual 'MAMA Awards (Mnet Asian Music Awards),' a popular music awards show organized by CJ ENM, will be held in the United States and Japan this year.
CJ ENM announced on the 18th that the '2024 MAMA Awards' will take place on November 21 (local time) at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles (LA), followed by events at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, on November 22 and 23.
Starting as Mnet's 'Video Music Awards' in 1999, the 'MAMA Awards' has been hosted across various Asian cities including Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Japan. This year marks the first time the awards will be held in the United States in its 25-year history.
The Dolby Theatre in LA is renowned as the annual venue for the Academy Awards. The 2024 MAMA Awards will be broadcast live globally through various platforms and channels, including YouTube.
Shin Hyung-kwan, Head of Music Content Business Division at CJ ENM, promised an unforgettable experience, stating, "From transcending performances that defy boundaries to stages that surpass spatial limitations, we will present an array of unmissable spectacles."
