SEOUL, March 19 (Yonhap) -- Pentagon's Jinho and Oh My Girl's Hyojung are set to star in Seoul Arts Group's new original musical "1000 Shades of Blue (천 개의 파랑).”

Seoul Arts Group announced on the 19th that they have finalized the cast for the original musical "A Thousand Waves," which will be performed at the CJ Towol Theater in the Arts Center from May 12 to 26.

"1000 Shades of Blue" is based on the eponymous speculative science fiction novel by Cheon Seon-ran, making its debut with this production. The story revolves around the friendship between Today, a racehorse, and Colli, a humanoid jockey, depicting solidarity that transcends the boundaries between animals, robots, and humans.

Pentagon's Jinho and Seoul Arts Group member Yoon Tae-ho will play the role of Colli, a robot originally created for horse racing but inadvertently equipped with learning abilities due to a fair mistake.

Making her musical debut in this production, Oh My Girl's Hyojung will portray a girl named Yeon-jae who abandons her dream of becoming a robotics engineer to meet Colli.

Eun-hye, who cares for the racehorse Today while using a wheelchair due to spinal cord injury, will be played by Song Mun-seon, while the role of Yeon-jae's mother, Bokyung, who raises Yeon-jae and Eun-hye alone, will be portrayed by Kim Geon-hye.

The production team includes Kim Han-sol, writer of the musical "L'art Reste," Park Cheon-hwi, composer of "The Origin of Evil by Darwin Young," and Kim Tae-hyeong, director of "Memphis."
