SEOUL, March 25 (Yonhap) -- MPMG, the agency representing indie band Thornapple and rock band Soran, has announced its intention to take legal action against claims of unpaid settlements.

On the 25th, MPMG stated, "We have initiated legal proceedings regarding claims of unpaid settlements brought forth by Naivy Inc., the company handling settlement services."

Earlier, Naivy had requested settlement data from MPMG, claiming to handle settlement services for artists previously under MPMG and raising suspicions of unpaid settlements and unfair contract coercion by MPMG.

On Naivy's official website, several notices raising suspicions such as 'MPMG Musician Unpaid Settlements and Settlement Refusals' have been posted.

MPMG countered, stating, "It is unprecedented for detailed data to be provided to a third party, ranging from 8 years ago to as recently as 1 year ago. We have been processing settlements smoothly with artists whose contracts have already ended according to contract terms."

Furthermore, they added, "We have applied for an injunction to cease posting defamatory content that appears to be aimed at promoting their own business and to prohibit future postings. We are also considering civil and criminal actions against artists who tolerate and support baseless suspicions."
