SEOUL April 13 (Yonhap) -- Hollywood blockbuster action movie “John Wick: Chapter 4” shortened as “John Wick 4” featuring actor Keanu Reeves has successfully topped the South Korean box office on the first day of its premiere.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated network of tickets sold on Thursday, “John Wick 4” has successfully attracted over 113 thousand audiences within the first day of its premiere taking over the lead of “Suzume” and landed safely on top of S.Korean box office.
Japanese Animation movie “Suzume” which premiered on March 8 has stepped down from the throne after 36 days of successful run on top of the box office.
“John Wick 4” a 4th movie within the franchise of John Wick series depicts a story of the protagonist John Wick, going up against the power that rules over the world of contract killers. Director Chad Stahelski once again led the production and throughout the movie famous actor Donnie Lee, Bill Skarsgard and more will appear.
Japanese animation movie “Lonely Castle in the Mirror” which premiered on the same day as “John Wick 4” attracted only 6 thousand audiences landing on 4th within the S.Korean box office.
“Lonely Castle in the Mirror” depicts a story of a protagonist Kokoro who gets drawn into the world within the mirror, finding friends and others who are under the same situation and the adventures she faces within the world within the other side of the mirror.
