SEOUL, March 13 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN has claimed 6 awards at the Japan Gold Disc Awards.
SEVENTEEN won in the "Best Artist" category in the Asia division, according to the list of winners announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan on the 13th.
With their mini-albums "FML" and Japanese best album "Always Yours," as well as mini-album "SEVENTEEN's Heaven," they secured the "Best 3 Albums" in the Asia division, and "FML" also rose to the top in the Asia division for "Album of the Year."
SEVENTEEN's concert footage "SEVENTEEN World Tour: Be the Sun in Japan" received the award for "Music Video of the Year" in the Asia division.
Their agency Pledis explained, "This is the first time in the history of the awards ceremony that one artist has monopolized the 'Best 3 Albums' in the Asia division."

This year, K-pop groups New Jins and Le Sserafim also recorded 2 awards.
New Jins was selected as the "Best 3 New Artists" in the Asia division, and their song "OMG" won in the Asia division for "Song of the Year by Streaming."
Le Sserafim was named in the Asia division for "New Artist of the Year" and "Best 3 New Artists," respectively.
BTS Jungkook's "Seven" was selected in the Asia division for "Song of the Year by Download."
The Japan Gold Disc Awards, sponsored by the Recording Industry Association of Japan since 1987, is a prestigious awards ceremony. Winners in each category are determined based on sales performance of albums, videos, etc., released in the past year.
