SEOUL, April. 16 (Yonhap) -- Jo Han-sun, who made his screen debut in 2004 with "Romance of Their Own," is an attractive actor with a tall height of 187cm and soft eyes.

According to the filmography accumulated so far, action works have been the main focus, but he has shown his talents in thriller and comic acting.

Jo Han-sun played the detective of the serious crime squad in the film "I'm Here," (translated) which was released on the 12th. Playing the typical detective "Sundoo," he presents fierce fighting scenes on the mudflats as well as a street chase with actor Jeong Jin-woon, who plays the serial killer "Kyujong."

Jo Han-sun, who we met at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, recalled the time, saying, "I filmed a fighting scene in a mudflat for three days," adding, "It was really cold when I filmed a fighting scene."

"The mudflat scene was physically difficult. It was hard to act with Jin-woon. He's so strong. In the first fight scene in the tunnel, on the contrary, it was so hot that it was hard. My whole body was so wet that I didn't need a sweaty makeup, and I ate so much of the dust.”

"I'm Here" is an action thriller based on the so-called "cellular memory" that transfers the personality or habits of an organ donor to the beneficiary.

Jo Han-sun's role, detective "Sundoo" is a person who received a lung transplant from a murderer he caught in the past. Jeong Jin-woon's "Kyujong" also receives a heart transplant from the same donor as Sundoo, continuing a strange tension amid the heterogeneity of the two being detective and murderer.

Regarding Jeong Jin-woon, who played with him, Jo Han-sun said, "This is my first time working with him," adding, "He is very passionate." "I learned a lot while working together because he is delicate and easily immersed when he is into something," he highly evaluated.

He also told the sad story of director Shin Geun-ho, who directed the work.

Jo Han-sun asked director Shin for various advice because he was not as emotional as the criminal character who received a lung transplant, but it turned out that director Shin was also in need of a kidney transplant due to his poor health like the characters in the film.

"The director has become very thin while working on the film. Since the director has to undergo dialysis twice a week, I was deeply concerned."

He also confessed his thoughts on the past 20 years as an actor. There were many good works, but there were many regrets as an actor.

"I still have to learn and grow. When I look at my work these days, I still think I'm lacking a lot."

He said, "I'm sorry that it would have been better if I had studied acting more," adding, "I'm going to go on the route more carefully now." "I want to put more weight on the quality of my work than on commerciality or popularity," he said.

He is preparing for a drama as his next work. For the next movie, he said he wants to try a comedy.

"There's always a desire for comedy. I think I'm a funny person, but others say I'm not funny. I'm going to have a craving for comedy and wait until it comes in."
