SEOUL April 12 (Yonhap) -- JYP Entertainment announced on the 12th that it has achieved an AA rating in the '2023 MSCI ESG Evaluation' announced by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI), a global ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) rating agency.
After receiving a B rating in 2020, a BB rating in 2021, and an A rating in 2022, the company has seen its rating rise for three consecutive years.
The AA rating places JYP among the top 17% in the global media and entertainment sector, making it the highest-rated among domestic K-pop entertainment companies, according to JYP.
JYP explained, "We have received high scores in terms of 'human resource development' and 'corporate governance' by implementing welfare programs for employee attraction and retention, conducting leadership training programs, and operating an independent compensation committee composed entirely of outside directors."
Since 1999, MSCI has been evaluating the ESG management key issues of listed companies worldwide annually.
