SEOUL, Nov. 9 (Yonhap) -- BGF Retail, owner of Korean convenience store CU, will export dalgonas to Mongolia and Malaysia, the company announced Tuesday.
Dalgonas have been gaining popularity throughout the world after appearing in a recent smash-hit Netflix series “Squid Game.”
Foreign netizens are enthusiastic over the Korean candy, uploading their making dalgonas on their social media page.
In response to its partner company’s repetitive request for complete dalgona-products for the local customers who are having difficulty in making the candy, CU has decided to partner with a small company in Korea and send 5 thousand of the sweet to each country.
The products will be available in Korean CUs as well starting from the mid-November.
Also, CU is planning to adopt Ppeppero marketing strategy in its Malaysian local convenience stores.
