SEOUL, July 9 (Yonhap) -- Actors Jo Jung-suk, Lee Jung-eun, and Cho Yeo-jeong have been cast as the leads in the upcoming film "My Daughter is a Zombie," distributor NEW announced on the 9th.
The movie, based on the popular webtoon of the same name by author Lee Yoon-chang, tells the story of a doting father who undergoes secret training to protect his daughter, who has turned into a zombie.
Jo Jung-suk will play the protagonist, Jeong-hwan, a father who struggles to protect his daughter from the world. Lee Jung-eun will portray Bam-soon, Jeong-hwan's mother, who helps her son care for her granddaughter.
Cho Yeo-jeong has been cast as Yeon-hwa, Jeong-hwan's first love, while Yoon Kyung-ho will play Dong-bae, Jeong-hwan's longtime friend. The role of Jeong-hwan's daughter, Su-a, the last remaining zombie in the world, will be played by Choi Yoo-ri, known for her performances in films such as "Alienoid."
The film will be directed by Pil Gam-seong, who previously directed "Hostage: Missing Celebrity" (2021) and the drama "An Awfully Lucky Day" (2023).
