SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korean duo MeloMance is returning back to the music scene in about over a year with a remake of the hit song "Confession" by rock band Hot Potato.

According to Kakao Entertainment and the duo's agency MPMG Music, MeloMance will release a remake of "Confession" at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29.

The original version of "Confession," released by Hot Potato in 2010, was received a lot of love for expressing the rush of feelings when confessing to a loved one through romantic melodies and delicate lyrics, sweeping the music charts at the time.

MeloMance, which will remake "Confession" for the first time in 11 years, will add a clean and cozy sentiment to the song with vocalist Kim Min-seok's unique tone and pianist Jeong Dong-hwan's performance.

MeloMance emerged as a powerful vocal duo after releasing its hit song "Gift" in 2017 and other popular songs such as "You" and "Deepen."

After Kim Min-seok joined the army in December 2019, the duo went through a military hiatus. This is the first time for both artists to release a song together since Kim was discharged in June from his mandatory military service.

The remake is the third song for Kakao Entertainment's "Confession Project," which is a relay remake of masterpiece songs titled "Confession." Jang Beom-june, a member of band Busker Busker, made headlines for remaking Park Hye-kyoung's "Confession" while musical act 10cm's cover of "Confession" by Deli Spice also gained popularity.
