SEOUL, Aug. 7 (Yonhap) -- "As I embark on my solo career, I set a goal to catch up to my fellow member, Eun-woo. Although there's still a long way to go, I plan to steadily follow in his footsteps."
Yoon San-ha, the youngest member of the group ASTRO, has returned as a solo artist, showcasing a solitary charm. At the showcase event for his solo mini-album "DUSK" held in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 6th, Yoon shared his thoughts on his solo debut. "Saying 'I am solo artist Yoon San-ha' still feels awkward," he admitted, adding that Eun-woo encouraged him to quickly catch up with a smile.
The album "DUSK," which means twilight, represents a period where Yoon juggles his identities as both ASTRO's youngest member and a solo artist. It symbolizes his transition through the twilight phase to emerge as a true artist. "While preparing the album, I pondered a lot about what kind of music I could make and what my unique color would be," Yoon explained. "In the end, I decided to capture this very process of contemplation in the album."

The album features six tracks, including the title song "Dive," along with "Fox Star" and "Losing My Mind," where Yoon's lyrical voice stands out. Yoon participated in the composition and writing of "Fox Star."
In the title track, he sings about the sadness and longing felt after a beautiful but fleeting sunset. The song features intense kicks and deep bass sounds, creating a mysterious and dramatic atmosphere. "Just like the title 'Dive,' I was initially scared and unsure about diving into the album project, but I felt happy once the recording was done," he said. "I hope this song can lift the spirits of those who fear new challenges."
Regarding "Fox Star," he shared, "The inspiration came from the comfort I found by looking at the sky during tough times. The song carries a message of not losing hope despite difficulties."
Yoon aims to show a different side of himself with this album. Despite missing his group members during the preparation process, it was a chance for significant personal growth. "As the youngest in ASTRO, I was often seen as cute and youthful. With this album, I want to show that I can handle this genre as well," he said.
Reflecting on his growth, he mentioned, "I used to be so nervous at press conferences or interviews that my hyungs had to answer for me. Over time, I've become more confident and clear about who I am."
Yoon also highlighted the support and advice from his ASTRO members as crucial during the preparation. Jinjin shared his songwriting expertise, and Eun-woo served as a role model. "I've always admired Eun-woo for being a cool hyung. I want to emulate his maturity and character and also reach his level of recognition," Yoon expressed sincerely.
Yoon San-ha's solo debut marks the beginning of his activities not only in music but also in acting, as he stars in the drama "Family X Melo." He aims to continue challenging himself across various fields. "I want to push my limits by trying out different things. Though I still have many shortcomings, I ask for your support as I continue to take on new challenges."
