SEOUL, June 13 (Yonhap) – As metaverse, a three-dimensional virtual world, is drawing attention and a series of virtual humans appear on the scene, there have been new attempts made in the music industry as well.
According to the music scene on Monday, a virtual group SAGONG_EE_HO appeared on SBS's "Inkigayo" on June 12 and performed its debut song "WAKE UP" for the first time.
SAGONG_EE_HO is a 3-member group based on metaverse.
The group, which consists of three members OREER.C, XOONY, and ITAEWON PARK, showed off the so-called "Digital from Analog" worldview, which refers to "the external manifestation of digital and the heart of analog.”
It is a group produced by the Kim Hyeong-seok crew, led by composer Kim Hyeong-seok, a "hit song maker" in Korea.
The agency Noneuni Entertainment emphasized, "We will go into the anxiety of the MZ generation or the “underdog” effect in the metaverse era and represent them," adding, "It is the first time in K-pop scene that a group of digital characters will debut on a terrestrial TV channel.”
Brave Entertainment, which includes the groups Brave Girls and DKB, also took on a new challenge last month by introducing the singer "Hip-Kongz."

Hip-Kongz is a virtual singer with a worldview that a virtual non-fungible token(NFT) character called "Meta-Kongz" debuts as an artist through the production of "hit song maker" Brave Brothers(real name Kang Dong-chul).
Although it is a virtual singer, the story behind it is quite solid.
Hip-Kongz was born on Dec. 12, 2021, and introduces that he is 178cm tall and weighs 225kg.
Hip-Kongz said in an interview while releasing the debut song "BAM," "It was just one of the ordinary gorilla projects, but thank you for giving me energy to communicate with the public through music."

Jason Blade is a villain protagonist who hates people that believe one is superior or noble. It has expanded the namesake Korean DJ into a virtual world.
The agency LXD introduced the group as a "virtual but real-life artist," adding, "The album contains the violence behind the bright world and the resistance to mental abuse in the name of ethics and morality."
