SEOUL, May 10 (Yonhap) – Half of the members of K-pop boy group MONSTA X have decided to renew their contracts with the current agency.

The agency Starship Entertainment announced on Monday, “We have renewed our exclusive contracts with MONSTA X’s Shownu, Ki-hyun, and Hyung-won. We promise to continue providing generous support based on trust and faith in each other.”

The agency is under discussion with three other members.

The agency said, “We are currently having in-depth discussions with Min-hyuk, Joohoney, and I.M in order to find the best path for the group and all members.”

It also mentioned, “There is no change in the affection that the agency and the six members have for MONSTA X, so we will make announcements regarding the contract renewals as soon as it is all settled.”

MONSTA X, which made a debut in May, 2015, has drawn great attention by showing off powerful performances and intense concepts and releasing various songs, including “Shoot Out,” “Alligator,” and “Follow.”

The group debuted as a 7-member boy group but it currently has six members as Won-ho left the team in 2019.
