SEOUL April 8 (Yonhap) -- SK Telecom announced on the 8th that its metaverse service "Ifland" will release the first single 'Halla' by the multinational metaverse idol group "Triple iz," planned by the company itself, and will host media showcase using global XR (extended reality).

"Triple iz" is a unit group composed of three active K-pop idols from S.Korea, India, and Indonesia, selected based on high usage among "Ifland" users. It consists of Aria from "X:In" (India), Dita from "Secret Number" (Indonesia), and E.Ji from "Ichillin" (S.Korea).

The debut project single "Halla" will be released on 216 global music channels such as iTunes, Spotify, and Flo on the same day.

SKT explained that it planned "Triple iz" as a 'fan-made' group and has been gathering users from Indonesia, India, United States, Philippines, etc., using "Ifland" every Thursday since February to participate in the production process, including fan club names and music concepts.

Furthermore, SKT provides various contents through "Ifland," such as XR reality drama 'Triple iz: Road to Debut,' XR global fan live events, and Volumetric concerts, utilizing its own metaverse technology.

Yang Maeng-seok, head of SKT's Metaverse division, addressed, "Metaverse is a suitable space for global users to create K-pop culture without constraints of time and space," adding, "SKT's metaverse, artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and K-pop fusion will provide an even higher level of user experience."
