SEOUL, April 4 (Yonhap) -- Kim Chae-won of the girl group Le Sserafim has participated as a featuring artist in the new song of American singer-songwriter Tori Kelly, her agency Source Music announced on the 4th.

Kim Chae-won added her vocals to Tori Kelly's upcoming song "Spruce," which is set to be released on the 5th (local time).

"I was honored and grateful to participate in the song of the artist I admire, Tori Kelly," Kim Chae-won said. "I remember eagerly waiting for the recording day since I first heard the song, as I loved it so much and couldn't wait to sing it."

This collaboration marks Kim Chae-won's first time working with another artist.

Tori Kelly also praised Kim Chae-won in an interview with the British music magazine NME, saying that Kim Chae-won happily participated in 'Spruce' and nailed it. The two worked remotely, with Kim Chae-won sending her verse. Kelly said the collaboration went well, without further adjustments.

Tori Kelly is a singer-songwriter who gained recognition for her musicality, with her album "Hiding Place" released in 2018, which won two Grammy Awards.

Le Sserafim is set to perform at the upcoming Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, a large-scale music festival in the United States, on the 13th and 20th.
