New MBC ent program 'Fluttering the Overcoat Hems' informs Korea through traveling

SEOUL, July 7 (Yonhap) -- Singer Kim Jong-kook, actors Ji Hyun-woo and Noh Sang-hyun, model Joo Woo-jae, and South Korean short track speed skater, Hwang Dae-heon left to Denmark to be "Hallyu Missionaries."


"I wanted to convey a good image of Korea while traveling," Producer Hwang Ji-young said, at the production presentation of MBC's new entertainment "Fluttering the Overcoat Hems," while was held at the MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul on Thursday.

"Fluttering the Overcoat Hems" is a variety program that introduces Korea by five entertainers, who are prominent in each field including K-pop, drama, fashion, and sports traveling abroad. Their first destination was Denmark."

"I chose a country that is unfamiliar and difficult to go to instead of a country with good accessibility," Producer Hwang said. "We were told that Denmark was interested in the Korean culture, so we thought about what we could convey to them."

The five people who went to Denmark sold K-items that combine traditional designs and modern life including AirPod cases designed with Goryeo celadon patterns to locals, and was able to look at the reactions of them. These items are currently sold as souvenirs at the National Museum of Korea.
