SEOUL, April 29 (Yonhap) -- Visitors will be able to enjoy spring night walks at Gyeongbokgung Palace as special evening tours open next month, officials said Wednesday.
The Korea Heritage Service’s palaces and tombs center said the nighttime viewing program will run from May 13 to June 14, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Visitors can freely explore major halls and gates, including Gwanghwamun Gate, Heungnyemun Gate, Geunjeongjeon Hall, Sajeongjeon Hall and Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, offering a chance to experience the palace illuminated under the spring night sky.
Gyotaejeon Hall, once the queen’s residence, and the nearby Amisan garden area will also be open to the public.
Traditional court music performances will be held during the program. The Blind Musicians Traditional Arts Group will stage a gugak performance at Gangnyeongjeon Hall on May 15 to mark the birth anniversary of King Sejong.

From May 20 to 23, May 27 to 30, and June 4 to 5, visitors to the Sujeongjeon area can enjoy court music and dance performances by musicians from the National Gugak Center.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 4 via Interpark Ticket. A total of 3,000 tickets will be available per day, with a limit of four per person. Foreign visitors can purchase tickets on-site at the Gwanghwamun ticket office on the day of admission.
Admission will be free for visitors wearing hanbok, children under age 6, seniors aged 65 or older, national merit recipients and their spouses, and people with disabilities and their companions. Eligible visitors can enter after presenting identification or relevant documents at Heungnyemun Gate.
