BTS' Jin to perform his single for first time in Argentina

SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Yonhap) --K-pop megaband BTS' Jin has collaborated with world-famous band Coldplay for his solo single "The Astronaut," which will be released on Oct. 28.

Jin uploaded poster announcing the collaboration with Coldplay on BTS' official social media account on Thursday.

Jin has previously made a surprise announcement of his upcoming release during the band's concert in the southeastern port city of Busan on Oct. 14, saying he came to release a song with the help of a person he personally likes.

Coldplay participated in co-composing, writing, and performing of Jin's new single.

BTS and Coldplay has previously released a collaborative song "My Universe" in Sept. 2021. The song made global hit, topping Billbord Hot 100 single chart.

Jin's agency Bighit Music said, "Jin and Coldplay will show perfect synergy and their new charms through 'The Astronaut.'"

Jin will perform the single for the first time at Coldplay's concert, which will take place at Buenos Aires, Argentina on Oct. 28 (Local Time).

Bighit released the conversation between Coldplay's Chris Martin and Jin and talking about such announcement on BTS' official social media account.

Chris Martin said, "Last time we talked, Jin said 'I might be leaving for awhile.' It touched me when he said 'I am going to miss my members and fans,'" adding, "Such conversation led to release this song.'

While this was from Chris, It is the first time Jin has expressed his thoughts after he revoked an application for the delay of his enlistment.

Jin said, "Thank you so much for listening to my ideas in every step and working closely with me while making this single," adding, "It was an honor to be able to collaborate with my superstar, my bro."

The first performance of Jin and Coldplay's "The Astronaut" will be released on BTS' official YouTube channel. Paid event of watching Coldplay's concert live at theaters all over the world will also take place.
