SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- "On hot and stuffy days, if you're stressed out, try following our dance moves. You can overcome the heat by burning it up like a fighter!" (Sua)
At the showcase for their 10th mini album "VirtuouS," held in Gangnam on the afternoon of the 10th, Dreamcatcher promised a powerful performance, saying, "We will show that you can be revitalized with our energetic and spirited songs."
"VirtuouS" embodies the image of a hero confronting evil with an unyielding spirit. The album includes five tracks, such as the title song "JUSTICE," "STΦMP," which captures the advancing hero, and "2 Rings," expressing the members' relentless pursuit of their goals. The title track is an intense alternative rock song, highlighted by its chorus and electric guitar solo, with choreography featuring foot stomping and powerful fist movements to represent Dreamcatcher fiercely fighting against evil.
To portray the energy befitting heroes, the members have prepared more intense choreography and vocal performances. Sua remarked, "The live performance difficulty is 8 out of 5 points. Keeping up with the guitar steps leaves us breathless. Even a fighter has to battle with themselves for this choreography." Handong added, "During the recording, the composer asked for stronger voices, so I focused on delivering a powerful voice. It was definitely my voice, but I even surprised myself with some new sounds."

With this album, Dreamcatcher concludes the two-part series "VersuS," which narrates the story of heroes and villains in parallel universes. Last November, they showcased the villainous side with the mini album "VillainS." Sua described "VirtuouS" as "a righteous album," aiming to break their limits and shine as heroes, hoping fans will feel a sense of justice through their performances.
Due to member Siyeon's health issues, Dreamcatcher will perform as a six-member group for the time being. The remaining members are determined to fill her absence with even greater responsibility. Jiu admitted, "It would be a lie to say there was no burden with her absence. We felt regretful that our main vocalist, Siyeon, couldn't participate. We've decided to work harder so we can showcase a better stage when she returns."
Since January, Dreamcatcher has been simultaneously conducting a world tour to commemorate their 7th debut anniversary, aiming to meet more fans through extensive activities. Jiu expressed, "We gain immense energy from meeting our fans, and it boosts our stamina as well. We hope this album charts on Billboard and that we get invited to global music festivals to meet fans worldwide."
As they release their 10th mini album, their focus is not so much on celebrating past achievements but on showing new aspects of themselves. "They say it takes over 10 years to master something. We are excited to be steadily moving towards that milestone." (Jiu)
