SEOUL, Dec. 25 (Yonhap) -- K-pop singer IU donated a total of 200 million won to needy neighbors, her agency EDAM Entertainment said on Dec. 24.

The songstress delivered 100 million won each to cancer patients and children and adolescents from low-income families.

The donation will be used to purchase winter heating and supplies for families suffering economically through ChildFund Korea. It will also be used for scholarships for grandparents and support for surgery and treatment expenses for pediatric and female cancer patients through the Seoul Asan Medical Center.

IU said, "It's a hard and tiring time for everyone, but I've come to convey my heart where I need help to convey a little warmth," adding, "I hope everyone can have a warm winter without a single marginalized neighbor."
