SEOUL January 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korean drama series airing every Wednesday and Thursday “The Interest of Love” featuring actor Yoo Yeon-seok, and actress Moon Ga-young is receiving a lot of love by showcasing the classic love story of protagonists.
According to the CPI (Content Power Index) released by CJ ENM on Wednesday, “Understanding of Love” was ranked 9th on the list with the score of 221.2.
“The Interest of Love” depicts a story which is led by romantic love story of four individuals who work at the KCU Bank located in Youngdeungpo district, Seoul. Throughout the drama, protagonists struggle and relate to one another depending on their economic status showcasing various emotional changes.
Protagonist Ha Sang-soo acted by actor Yoo Yeon-seok is a bank worker who has been working at KCU Bank for the past three years, Moon Ga-young plays a role of Ahn Soo-young a customer service worker who has been working at the bank for the past four years, actress Geum Sae-rok plays a role of Park Mi-kyung who is a single daughter of a wealthy family, and bank’s security guard Jung Jong-hyun acted by Jung Ga-ram who works hard to become a police officer.
Although four of the characters work at the same space, social structural wise they are all located in a different segment. College degree segments one from the other, and economic wealth of the family also segments one from the others as well. Drama depicts the inevitable social class which comes into play in romantic relationship.
Throughout the series, characters showcase various ways of showcasing their love which attracts the audience.
Protagonist Ha Sang-soo who is very careful about every takes time to approach An Soo-young, however An Soo-young who needed assurance keeps her distance from Ha Sang-soo despite of her affection towards his. On the contrary, Park Mi-kyung who is very outgoing presents her feelings towards Ha Sang-soo very boldly. Moreover, Jung Jong-hyun who takes a step closer to An Soo-young, takes a step back due to his personal issues.
“The Interest of Love” creates tension and attracts the audience by showcasing intertwined relationships between four protagonists as the story progresses, therefore the unknown aspect of how their love will unfold interests the audience.
