SEOUL, October 3 (Yonhap) -- Korean girl group BLACKPINK's second full-length album "BORN PINK" is staying in the U.S. Billboard main album chart "Billboard 200" "Top 5" for two consecutive weeks, showing a long-run success.
According to a chart preview article released on October 2 (local time), the album succeeded in maintaining the top spot by ranking fourth in the second week, down three notches from the previous week.
The album sales of "BORN PINK" recorded 60% decrease from last week, selling 40,000.
"Billboard 200" calculates the ranking of the album by adding the sales volume of the albums such as physical albums, the number of streams converted into album sales (SEA), and the number of digital music downloads converted into album sales (TEA).
BLACKPINK ranked first on the "Billboard 200" for first time as a K-pop girl group, selling 102,000 albums. It is the fourth K-pop group topping the "Billboard 200" chart after BTS, Super M, and Stray Kids.
BLACKPINK not only topped the U.S. Billboard chart with this album, but also topped the U.K. official album chart "Top 100," and became the first Asian women artist to top both the U.S. and the U.K. music chart.
In the meantime, Bad Bunny, who was topping the Billboard 200 list for 11 weeks came down to second place last week behind BLACKPINK, but showed off his potential by topping the list again this week.
