SEOUL, April. 16 (Yonhap) -- Na-young (played by Kim Bora), a reporter who is just starting out in a career, searches for issues that could be big news.

Meanwhile, she encounters the death of a man on a platform in the station from his friend "Woo-won" (Kim Jae-hyun) working at Oksu Station, and began intensive coverage with Woo-won.

However, the more they dig into the case, the more bizarre things continue to happen, and the case falls into mystery.

The movie "Ghost Station" is based on the horror webtoon "The Ghost of Oksu Station," which became popular in 2011. The webtoon tells the story of a man alone at Oksu Station who sees a woman who seemed drunk and dies after knowing that the woman was a ghost.

The film begins the story by dramatically portraying these mysterious events.

As the subway station, which is no different from a daily space, becomes the background of an incident in which ghosts may appear, it is enough to raise anxiety, and the shape that appears at first glance through the dark is enough to bring out a vague fear.

The strange shape that appears when the characters in the film turn their heads to the direction where strange sounds come or look at themselves reflected in the mirror is a factor that can surprise the audience.

It is said that the production team rarely used lighting to maximize the intense atmosphere and fear in the film. In addition, they chose a handheld technique of filming with a camera in their hand to deliver the anxiety of the characters that is escalating with the development of the story.

The filming did not take place at Oksu Station, as the title suggests. In 2021, while filming, it was difficult to recruit subway sites in Seoul because the COVID-19 was out of control. Instead, a subway station in Busan was decorated like an Oksu station to film.

Shin So-yul's acting transformation in the film is also noteworthy.

Shin So-yul played the mysterious woman “Tae-hee.” Instead of the romantic feeling shown in the previous film, it exudes an uneasy and gloomy atmosphere and gives off a strange charm.

At the press preview on the 12th, she said, "As shown in the movie poster, it was the hardest to dress up and go to the bathroom to look in the mirror," adding, "I'm satisfied that I did it on my own without a stunt."

It is the first screen debut for drummer Kim Jae-hyun of the group "N.Flying," who plays Woo-won,.

He said, "I was very scared because I usually can't even watch horror movies," but recalled the time of filming, "I think I was a little less scared because I was with the other actors."

Hiroshi Takahashi, who wrote the scenario for Japan's leading horror film "The Ring," participated in the screenplay. Director Jung Yong-ki, who directed Takahashi's script, completed the urban myth by adding "Han," a Korean fear factor.
