SEOUL, Nov. 23 (Yonhap) -- Ahead of announcing the nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards, there are onlookers suggesting that BTS might be nominated for the "Record of the Year" Award.
The band has won triple AMAs' awards including the most honorable, the "Artist of the Year" Award.
American business magazine Forbes has predicted the Korean band’s mega-hit song "Butter" as a possible candidate for the "Record of the Year" Award, on the 22nd (U.S time).
The award for which 8 songs are nominated is one the Grammy Awards' 4 General Fields.
The big 4 awards include the "Album of the Year," the "Song of the Year" and the "Best New Artist" Awards as well.
The business magazine said that there are sometimes front runners for the “Record of the Year” Award, but for this year they are expecting a hot competition.
The magazine also mentioned Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More," Justin Bieber's "Peaches," The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay," Lil Nas X' "Montero," Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's License," Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open" and Taylor Swift's "willow" as the list of nominees to compete with BTS.
It also reported that BTS' "Butter" could be nominated for the Grammy's "Song of the Year" Award.
Earlier, American music news media Billboard reported that the song will be a historical nominee for the award when it top-notched Billboard Singles Chart "Hot 100" for 10 weeks.
Billboard's list includes Doja Cat's "Kiss Me More," Bille Eilish’s “Happier than Ever,” Lil Nas X' "Montero," Måneskin’s “Beggin,” Olivia Rodrigo's "Driver's License," Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open” and Wizkid’s “Essence” as well.
The nominees for the 64th Grammy Awards will be announced before noon on the 23rd (WST) and the ceremony will take place at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles on January 31st 2022.
