SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- Girl band BLACKPINK has taken part in YouTube’s campaign to save the Earth and appealed to the world to actively speak up of environmental issues such as climate change.

The band attended “Dear Earth” event, held through YouTube on the 23rd (American time), as the only K-pop star to take part in it, according to their agency YG Entertainment.

"The planet is warming too fast. The way things are going, there may be no planet left to save,” warned Lisa.

“Our generation has to come together. We must unite and work towards this collective goal of saving the Earth. Thinking as one we must voice our thoughts on the current state of the Earth,” highlighted Rosé.

They also performed “STAY,” the title song of their album “SQUARE TWO” which was released in November 2016.

The song shows an anxiety of feeling that one wouldn’t stay and wishes for the one to stay. The agency explains that the song’s message matches with the event’s theme.

“We will work towards building a better, more equal, more sustainable world. Our Dear Earth will be in safe hands,” said Ji-soo.
