SEOUL April 18 (Yonhap) — BTS, the popular South Korean boy band, announced on Friday that they will be hosting a pop-up event titled “MONOCHROME” in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong district from the 26th of this month to the 12th of next month, according to their agency Big Hit Music.

The group unveiled black-and-white posters taken before their military enlistment through their official social media accounts on the same day.

Big Hit Music introduced the pop-up concept as delivering memories with BTS to fans worldwide. They described it as being inspired by the motif of “Cloud of Memories” where precious memories of BTS and their fans, “ARMY,” are stored in clouds within jars.

The concept of “Cloud of Memories” was first introduced at a BTS fan meeting in 2018. The black-and-white photos released on Friday are said to be part of the “Cloud of Memories  prepared by BTS for their fans.

Big Hit Music also launched a virtual experience website (https://www.mncrlogistics.com) designed as a logistics tracking webpage to allow fans to experience the delivery process of the “Memory Cloud,” starting from the 15th of this month.

The offline pop-up event will feature various attractions, including exhibitions of unreleased portraits of the members and on-site events.

Currently, all seven members of BTS are serving in the military. The eldest member, Jin, is set to be discharged in June, becoming the first member to complete his military service.
