SEOUL, June 25 (Yonhap) -- "With this album, I wanted to approach everyone in a bright and lovable manner, reflecting the image that many have of me," said Chuu, returning this summer as a refreshing 'living vitamin.'
After showcasing a more honest and somewhat darker side in her first solo album 'Howl,' Chuu has come back to the music scene with her characteristic vibrant persona. In a recent interview at a café in Mapo-gu, Seoul, Chuu introduced her second mini-album 'Strawberry Rush,' stating, "I put a lot of effort into conveying my bright and energetic spirit in my songs."
'Strawberry Rush' features six tracks, including the title track of the same name. The album includes 'Honeybee,' which likens the journey of seeking true love to a bee’s quest; 'Daydreamer,' which evokes the feel of a musical film; and 'Lucid Dream,' which depicts a free-spirited journey.
The title track 'Strawberry Rush' presents Chuu as a quirky and lively heroine racing through her day, with an eclectic sound of dreamy synthesizers and distinctive bass. Its playful lyrics like "Can't get enough That strawberry rush, I'll run to protect you at the speed of light" blend well with Chuu's positive energy.
Reflecting on her public image, Chuu noted, "I've often shown a smiling face on broadcasts, and many see me as a confident and energetic idol. I felt this song matched my image and would meet the bright expectations of my fans."
Chuu expressed her gratitude towards her fans, saying, "I always feel that I haven't given enough back compared to the love and support I receive. With this energetic album, I hope to provide comfort and encouragement to others."
When asked about the source of her brightness, she responded, "The fans who support and love me in every performance and broadcast are my driving force. Their energy keeps me going."

In her first mini-album 'Howl' released last October, Chuu tackled controversies head-on with candid lyrics. She reflected, "I wanted to show a concept and music style that people didn't expect. This album allowed me to challenge various aspects."
Following 'Howl,' Chuu embarked on her first world tour, performing live, marking a significant step in her solo career. She shared her aspirations, "My goal is to follow in the footsteps of senior artist IU. I want to enjoy my music and albums with my fans for a long time and proudly share my songs wherever I go."
Chuu added, "I've drawn a lot of energy from IU's songs since I was young. When I first encountered IU with 'Good Day,' her bright and lively image resonated with me like an avatar. That energy solidified my dream of becoming a singer. I want to be someone who comforts and loves others, showing authenticity on stage."
When asked about her dream stage, she enthusiastically replied, "I haven't had many experiences performing in front of large audiences, so I definitely want to perform at year-end stages and university festivals. People say to dream big, so my goal is to perform at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena (KSPO Dome). I will always be a singer who takes bold challenges."
