PSG's Neymar signs contract extension until 2025

SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the powerhouse of the French football league announced on its website on Tuesday that it renewed its contract with Neymar. The contract is due in 2025.

Neymar's contract with PSG was scheduled to end in June 2022.

The Brazil's national striker  moved his nest from Barcelona to PSG in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee of 222 million euros (about KRW 32 billion), the highest ever for a football player.

Neymar scored 85 goals in 112 matches in a PSG uniform.

He contributed to PSG's three consecutiveLigue 1 titles and the club's first ever UEFA Champions League final.

While playing for PSG, rumors of a transfer has continued, including his return to Barcelona, but in the end, his choice was to extend his contract.

No specific terms of the contract have been announced, but local reports say The 29-year-old has agreed to an annual salary of €30 million.
