The North Korean women at the heart of Pyongyang’s drama

Over the last month, you may have seen claims of a power struggle between the three most important women in North Korea. They are Chairman Kim Jong-un’s wife Ri Sol-ju, younger sister Kim Yo-jong, and the more mysterious Hyon Song-wol. It is easy to see why this narrative appears realistic. However, there may be a better explanation that is far more positive for all three concerned.
