By Song Sang-ho

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31 (Yonhap) -- The White House said Friday that a federal law enforcement agency has arrested a South Korean national convicted of possession or control of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct, as it underscored an ongoing nationwide immigration crackdown.

During a press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt provided information on arrests of foreign nationals by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency under the Department of Homeland Security.

"On Jan. 28, 2025, ICE Atlanta arrested a citizen of South Korea who has been convicted of nine counts of possession or control of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct," she said.

She did not elaborate on the person's identity.
