S. Korean naval cadets start training cruise
The 79th-class cadets of the Naval Academy attend a ceremony to report their departure for an overseas training cruise on the compound of a naval base in Jinhae, some 311 kilometers southeast of Seoul, on Sept. 5, 2024, in this photo provided by the Navy. The 110-day cruise will take them to eight countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Australia. The annual training employs the Hansando, a 4,500-ton training ship, and the 9,170-ton logistics support ship Dae Cheong carrying some 500 crew members, including the 143 cadets.
