SEOUL, June 4 (Yonhap) -- The last season of SBS TV's famous drama series "The Penthouse: War in Life" will air at 10 p.m. on June 4th. Unlike the previous two seasons, episodes will only air once a week every Fridays.

The public's expectations are high on how the intertwined revenge of Oh Yoon-hee (played by actress Eugene), Cheon Seo-jin (Kim So-yeon), and Shim Su-ryeon (Lee Ji-ah) will play out at the end of this season.

In particular, the biggest interest of the audiences is whether Joo Dan-tae (played by actor Um Ki-joon), one of the nefarious characters on the show, will suffer horribly. In addition, the history of some characters that have not been explained, the emergence of new characters, and the entrance examination competitions between the students in the show are expected to take place in the last season.

At an online production presentation held for the last season, actress Eugene said, "While it is sad, exhausting, and uncomfortable to not see all of the characters pay the price for their crimes in this season, I'm still going to try my best to perform well."

"In season 3, Yoon-hee will be seen struggling to carry out justice," she added. "I hope my character can vicariously relieve the frustration felt by the viewers."

Actress Kim So-yeon, who has become the "nation's villain" through this work, said, "When I first saw the script for season 3, I also thought, 'Cheon Seo-jin, how far are you going to take this revenge.' Whilst acting as Cheon Seo-jin, I'm also curious to see how much more evil she will become. I hope everybody else is as curious as I am."

Lee Ji-ah, who returned to Shim Soo-ryeon from Na Aegyo at the end of last season, said, "I'm looking forward to a more shocking ending in season 3. Although many people are guessing the ending of our drama, we'll make sure to give the audience a greater sense of betrayal."

Actor Um Ki-joon, who has earned a great deal of hate from the viewers while acting as Joo Dan-tae, a character who does not hesitate to do all kinds of evil things to get what he wants, said "I had no choice but to become the 'nation's XXX'. Of course, as Joo Dan-tae I don't feel guilty at all."

"Since I don't have any more kiss scenes, I can now film season 3 with a more relaxed mind," he said. "I will work hard to show everyone more evil until the end."

As the "Penthouse" series has become a sensation so far, the actors and actresses showed their affection for the work and their roles at the production presentation.

Actor Yoon Jong-hoon, who received great attention as Ha Yoon-chul, said, "I've never felt these emotions for any of my previous works, but when I realized it was my last time filming for the Penthouse series with Eugene and Kim So-yeon, I had all kinds of mixed feelings."

Eugene said, "It was my first time playing this kind of role, so it was an opportunity to grow as an actress," while actress Lee Ji-ah said, "Playing Sim Su-ryun was a very big adventure for me."

Actor Bong Tae-gyu, who has shown his unique acting as Lee Kyu-jin, said, "Not a single scene was shot carelessly. I'm working so hard that I don't know if I can act more than I have."
