Passage of contentious broadcasting bill
Lawmakers of the ruling Democratic Party pass a bill, under which the board of directors at the state-run education broadcaster EBS will be expanded from nine members to 13, during a plenary session of the National Assembly in Seoul on Aug. 22, 2025, with the main opposition People Power Party boycotting the voting.
