SEOUL, May 12 (Yonhap) -- Girl group ITZY, who have recently
scored a place on the "Billboard 200" chart with their newly released
album, will continue to make move towards the global music market by releasing
their title track in English.
JYP Entertainment announced on Wednesday that the English
version of ITZY's 4th mini-album "GUESS WHO" title track "Mafia In
the Morning" will be released at 1 p.m. on May 14th.
In addition, JYP Entertainment will reveal a lyric video
based on the English lyrics on the same day and upload a performance video of
ITZY singing the song on May 15th.
ITZY ranked 148th on the Billboard 200 chart with "Guess
Who" for the first time in the third year of its debut.
The five-piece act also made their first debut in the
"Artist 100" chart, which was released on the same day, by ranking
99th place. Artist 100 is a weekly published chart by Billboard, which assesses album and single sales, radio and
streaming numbers, social media activities, and the amount of influence and recognition
singers have.
"Mafia In the Morning" ranked 56th as of March 3rd
on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, which further proves ITZY's
songs to be hits.
While some criticized ITZY's new hip-hop title track to have
a complicated flow and outdated lyrics, people seem to be finding the song to
have a strange addictive charm.
